LERTA

Supporting energy innovations

ENERGY & GREENTECH

Photon Energy is a global provider of renewable energy, specializing in the full lifecycle of photovoltaic (PV) systems, from project development to operations and maintenance (O&M).

Before joining Photon Energy in 2022, LERTA, Poland’s third-largest energy aggregator, received support from EXEQ to enhance its service portfolio. EXEQ helped identify funding opportunities adequate for LERTA’s high-potential R&D projects, resulting in over €2M in secured funding through strategic financing plans, refined project concepts, and expert advisory support.

Challenge

Accelerating LERTA’s Smart Energy Platform Development

Through our collaboration, LERTA developed a smart platform that optimises energy consumption by integrating real-time data from various sources, including renewable energy systems and energy storage solutions. The main challenge was to create a funding strategy for accelerated development of their platform. Identifying the right grant programs was essential for securing funding and attracting additional investors.

Approach

Aligning Financing Strategy with LERTA’s Platform Development Goals

We took an integrated approach by aligning the financing strategy with LERTA’s platform development plans and carefully assessing the company’s short- and long-term goals. The collaboration began with evaluating a funding proposal for an intelligent metering system and non-invasive analysis of energy and gas consumption, leading to receiving a grant of €250k. EXEQ then provided expert guidance in applying for funding from two additional support schemes.

Result & Impact

Securing €2M for Innovative Energy and Efficiency Solutions

By identifying the most suitable funding sources and tailoring the financial plan, we ensured support for key milestones and sustainable growth. Our collaboration resulted in:

  • €1.1M grant for developing a thermal comfort and energy efficiency management platform
  • €700k in funding to create tools for forecasting PV energy generation and optimizing renewable energy balancing.
