Planeteers, a German start-up, is developing innovative CO2 capture technology using the ocean’s natural role as a carbon sink to deliver negative emissions and address decarbonization in energy-intensive sectors.
EXEQ supported Planeteers by designing a funding strategy, identifying stakeholders for LIFE and Eurogia schemes, and preparing funding applications aligned with requirements. These efforts mark the beginning of a promising partnership between Planeteers and EXEQ.

Boosting Innovation with Diversified Funding and Impact Expansion
Planeteers sought support in securing European public funding to complement their existing private investments and regional funding programs. This diversified funding strategy aimed to accelerate the development, scale-up, and real-life validation of Planeteers’ reactor technology. Additionally, challenges related to the circular economy and water quality monitoring were identified as key areas to explore, enhancing their innovative solution’s overall impact and potential.
Strategic Funding Support for Accelerated Growth and Innovation
Collaborating closely with the Planeteers team, we developed a strategic approach for funding applications to LIFE and Eurogia. The applications were tailored to meet the company’s evolving needs and aligned with complementary private and regional funding sources. Suitable partners were carefully selected from both Planeteers’ and EXEQ’s networks to enhance the applications’ success. We continue to monitor funding opportunities to drive Planeteers’ accelerated growth.
Seizing Opportunities with Quality Funding Applications
In 2024, EXEQ prepared two high-quality funding applications that were submitted to relevant European programs on behalf of Planeteers. We continue collaborating closely, exploring additional funding opportunities to support the next stages of technology development and scaling.
